DAVID C. BROWN, CPA 11/5/1941 - 8/21/2016
Dear Clients and Friends:
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of David C. Brown, our colleague, partner and friend. Dave fought a long courageous battle with cancer for over 18 years.
Dave served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded a Bronze Star for his service. He graduated from the Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science in Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and began his career with George S. Olive & Co. in Indianapolis. In 1978 he formed his own accounting practice and formed the partnership Brown Kingry & Co. LLC in 1987 with Rebecca Kingry.
A kind, soft-spoken and gentle man, Dave was beloved by his clients as well as the staff and his fellow partners. He loved his job and was very disappointed when he was forced to retire in June, 2016 due to his illness.
Dave’s dedication and cheerful, calm disposition will be deeply missed. The business will continue with the remaining partners, Rebecca Kingry, Rhonda Feldman and Jacki Hoffman. We thank you for the patronage extended to Dave and to us in the past and we sincerely hope to continue to serve you in the future.
Visitation will be from 9 – 11 a.m. Thursday, August 25, 2016 with services immediately following at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, Shelbyville, IN 46176. Memorial contributions may be given to Cancer Association of Shelby County in care of the funeral home. Online condolences may be shared at www.glennegeorgeandson.net.
